Commemorative Speaking

Commemorative speeches are generally generally known as "ceremonial" or "epideictic" speeches. At the most elementary level, commemorative speeches pay tribute or reward a person, an institution, an event, thought, or place. Their focus is on VALUES. All societies maintain certain values central to human existence: beauty, loyalty, wisdom, kindness, custom, success, innocence, expertise, and courage, for example. The commemorative speech will have fun these values. Sorts of commemorative speeches include the eulogy, the speech of nomination, the speech of goodwill, the marriage toast, and the award acceptance speech.
Please be aware that the commemorative speech is not only informative. Thus, a speaker wouldn't just give a biography of Ghandi, however fairly would have fun who he was, why he was worthy of reward, and encourage the audience to have a good time those values.
